Body Composition Scan and Analysis2020-02-22T20:15:11+11:00

When you stand on a set of scales and measure your weight, you’re not getting a true picture of what’s going on inside you.

YOUR TOTAL WEIGHT IS EFFECTED BY:

  • Your fluid (body water) levels

  • How much you’ve eaten

  • If you’ve exercised or not

  • The time of the day

  • Muscle mass

  • Fat mass

Ditch daily weighing!

Maximising muscle mass and decreasing fat mass are key indicators of healthy changes to your body composition that don’t necessarily show up on a basic set of scales. A comprehensive scan of your body composition is the best method to track positive changes and measure the effectiveness of your nutrition and exercise strategies.

How does the InBody scanner measure body composition?2020-02-09T09:33:47+11:00

The InBody scanner uses BIA to measure body composition.

Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) was discovered in the early 1960s. BIA is a method of measuring body composition. A small alternating current is sent through the body which measures the different resistance of the make up of the body. For example, body fat compared to body water (such as blood) has a much weaker conductivity, which equals relatively high impedance.

Will I receive nutrition information or advice during my InBody scan appointment?2020-02-09T09:31:11+11:00

Due to the limited time in an InBody scan appointment, it is not possible to provide nutrition information or advice. If you are interested in individualised nutrition advice, please book a first consultation with one of our Accredited Practising Dietitians.
